Matcha cream tops, equal parts aesthetic and delicious, are everywhere right now. Our version adds one extra ingredient for an even more elevated functional benefit: colostrum.

Most "functional" drinks ask you to compromise on flavour. This one doesn't. The salted matcha cream top does most of the work, supporting calm and focused energy. The cream provides healthy fats and protein. And the colostrum quietly upgrades the whole thing. Bovine colostrum contains immunoglobulins (IgG and IgA), lactoferrin, and growth factors that research suggests can support gut barrier function, immune resilience, and skin elasticity. Just a teaspoon stirs in seamlessly with no detectable flavour change.

What's in this drink?

This recipe uses Nami Okumidori matcha, which delivers a clean, slow-release caffeine paired with L-theanine — the amino acid that smooths out the jitters and supports calm focus through the morning. The ceremonial-grade leaf also brings a high dose of EGCG, a polyphenol studied for its antioxidant and metabolic benefits.

The Cowboy Colostrum provides the drink's functional anchor, with unflavoured powder that dissolves cleanly into the matcha base, so you get the functional benefits without changing the drink's rich flavour.

Finally, the Lineage raw honey provides unfiltered enzymes and trace minerals alongside a gentle sweet flavour.

Matcha Colostrum Cream Top ingredients:

Want to whip up a cream top at home? Here's everything you'll need to get the perfect, frothy drink...

You can also swap out the double cream for coconut milk if you prefer a slightly lighter version.

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the matcha and colostrum powders with 40ml of water until smooth and frothy with no clumps.
  2. Stir the honey into the milk, then pour it over the matcha-colostrum mix.
  3. Whip the double cream with a pinch of Baja Gold sea salt until fluffy but still pourable — soft peaks, not stiff.
  4. Pour the matcha-milk base over a glass of ice.
  5. Spoon the salted cream on top and let it settle into that signature cloud.

Happy sipping!
