The bottle screws apart easily for cleaning and eventually recycling. The body is not dishwasher safe, but the lids and bottom part are, which is what counts. The Carafe lid can be taken apart for more thorough cleaning and the bottle can be cleaned easily with a brush or by adding a small drop of dishwasher fluid and running water into the bottle until it's clear.
